WATER CONSERVATION GRANT
HOW TO APPLY
WHEN WILL THE GRANT BE PAID?
To receive the Water Conservation Grant, currently worth € 100, you must be registered with Irish
Water by June 30th 2015.
You will receive the Grant if you are on a
mains supply, a Group Water Scheme or if you have your own supply and/or water waste treatment system, although you must be registered with Irish Water by the 30th of June, 2015.
For the moment, if you are registered with Irish
Water, there is nothing you need do. The Grant will be paid starting from late September 2015.
In order to receive the Grant, you will have to apply for it online but applications will only be accepted during late August through to early October 2015. So if you are currently registered with Irish Water, you don't need to do anything until late August. If you have moved house or know that you will be moving house before 30th June 2015, you should contact Irish Water on 1890 448 448.
Irish Water will write to you starting at the end of August 2015 and you will need to keep the two numbers contained in their letter: The Water Point Reference Number (WPRN) and your Irish Water Registration Number.
The Grant is intended to allow household improve their water conservation activities. These include, for example: purchasing water butts, rain water harvesting schemes, water aerating taps, dual flush toilets etc. You will not have to provide receipts for these activities in order to receive the Water Conservation Grant.
